Transmission oil is extremely important for the smooth operation of the gearbox. It ensures proper lubrication of the gears and other moving parts, reducing friction, preventing wear and overheating, and guaranteeing quieter and more efficient transmission performance. What is transmission oil?

Transmission oil has a different composition and viscosity than engine oil, as it operates under different loads and temperatures. Over time and mileage it loses its properties, which can lead to:

• Hard or difficult gear shifting;
• Increased noise from the gearbox;
• Loss of efficiency and acceleration;
• Damage to the driveline/transmission system.

Regular transmission oil changes are key to preventing such problems and extending the life of the transmission.

When should transmission oil be changed?

The recommended replacement interval varies depending on the type of transmission:

• Manual gearboxes – every 60,000 – 100,000 km;
• Automatic gearboxes (incl. CVT and DSG) – every 40,000 – 80,000 km, according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Our technicians will advise you on the exact interval for your vehicle and will use oil that meets the original specifications.
