Vibrations during acceleration are a clear sign of a problem in the vehicle's driveline. When the shaking appears when you apply the throttle and lessens when coasting, the cause is usually in the components that transmit torque from the engine to the wheels.

What are the main sources of vibrations?

  • imbalance or wear of the driveshaft;

Problems with a manual gearbox

  • worn or defective torque converter;

  • contaminated or old transmission fluid;
  • incorrect hydraulic pressure.

Irregular fluid changes in the automatic gearbox accelerate wear of internal components and lead to unstable shifting.

How to identify the source?

Observe exactly when the vibration appears. If it disappears when you release the throttle, the problem is likely in the transmission rather than the tires. If the shaking is felt even at low speed, there may be damage to an inner CV joint or a bearing.

A visual check for transmission leaks and the condition of the boots is also important. A torn boot leads to grease loss and rapid wear of the CV joint.
